One of the most impressive modern attractions in Vietnam is the world’s longest cable car, located in southern Phú Quốc Island. Stretching over 7.9 kilometres across the sea, this three-rope cable car system connects An Thoi town on the mainland to Hon Thom (Tom Island).
Since opening in 2018, it has become a highlight for many travellers, especially those visiting Phú Quốc for the first time.

Experience The Longest Cable Car in Phu Quoc
The journey takes approximately 12–15 minutes each way and offers spectacular panoramic views. As the cabin glides high above the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand, you’ll see stunning views of the coastline, scattered islands, and the famous emerald waters Phú Quốc is known for.
The cable car itself is modern, comfortable, and fully air-conditioned. Many visitors say the ride is even more memorable than the destination.
Best Time to Ride the Cable Car
The clearest views are usually in the dry season (November to April), particularly on sunny mornings. Afternoon rides can be beautiful too, especially during golden hour, but visibility may be affected during the rainy season (May to October).
Pro tip from Flexi Tour Centre: Try to go early in the day. Not only is the light better for photos, but the queues are also shorter.
What’s on Hon Thom Island?
After arriving on Hon Thom, you can enjoy:
Aquatopia Water Park
Beautiful beaches with clear water
Restaurants and souvenir shops
Sunset views (if you stay until late afternoon)
Many Australian travellers combine the cable car trip with a half-day or full-day island exploration.

Important Note
After returning from Hon Thom Island back to the mainland by cable car, some visitors choose to stop by the Kiss Bridge (Cầu Hôn) nearby. This unique bridge shaped like two hands reaching out to each other has become another popular photo spot in southern Phú Quốc.
At Flexi Tour Centre, the Phú Quốc cable car trip is included in many of our Phu Quoc tour packages and Vietnam holiday packages from Australia. We can easily arrange it as a day trip or combine it with beach time and other island activities.
Whether you’re travelling as a couple, family, or in a small group, this world-record cable car ride is one of those experiences that truly makes Phú Quốc special.
